Music-driven full body strength and mobility group class. Whether you’re curious about strength training and not sure where to start, or a more experienced lifter who enjoys the social energy of a group class, this is for you. Set to a bangin’ playlist of pop divas and girl groups, think vibe of group fitness, but with the legit weights and programming of actual strength training. Capped at just ten people, the small class size allows plenty of space for personalization. Drop in week to week or grab a package to kickstart your strength training habit.

Small Group
Beginner friendly & judgement free.
Semi-private strength training! This is a seasonal series over an 8-10 week training block focused on main barbell lifts and movement patterns (squat, deadlift, press, pull). For those who want to build confidence and consistency in the gym while learning how to progress safely alongside a supportive and intimate community. Think vibe of personal training but with a more accessible price point and a small team to hype you up; each group meets weekly on the gym floor and is capped at five people for lots of 1:1 coaching.

The “Girl” in Girl Group Training is not so literal - this is for the girls, gays, and theys of all gender expressions, regardless of background, age, ability, body type or fitness level. We are creating an inclusive and welcoming space free from the judgement and harassment often found in traditional gyms. If you’re comfortable in a space that centers women & femmes, you’re invited.

PLEASE. We all start somewhere, and Girl Group Training is designed to provide options to meet you where you’re at. Expect anatomy & biomechanics lessons sprinkled in, so you’re learning the “why” as you work. Need an accommodation or modification? Just ask!

Group Class is hosted by Group by Independent Training Spot on 39th and 6th Ave (close to Harold Square or Bryant Park subway stops) and Small Group meets at Solace NY on 32nd and Park (close to Harold Square or 6 train stops)

Nope! That said, strength training works when you do it consistently. But Group Class is drop in style meaning you can come every week or just when you want. We’ll keep the same exercises for 4-6 week mini cycles, so you’ll have a chance to feel yourself progress (this is how we build strength, rather than random workouts that always change.) You won’t be lost if you miss a week, or if you’re new.
Small Group is a progressive program that builds upon itself over 8-10 weeks, so participants will sign up for the entire series with 2-3 allowed absences depending on the program length.
